Boy or girl?

This is bound to be an exciting week not only for the expectant couple for the entire family! During this week you will finally be able to decide a name for your child and also determine the color of your child’s bedroom decorations!

Social implications do come underway in some cases, in others parents simply don’t wish to find out. But curiosity often takes the better of most people. It’s always up to you to decide whether you want to know yet or not.

How’s the baby coming on?

Fingernails and Toenails are formed

Your baby is now about 85 grams and 16 centimeters, roughly the size of a banana. By now the fingernails and toenails are already well formed. In some cases, the nails actually need to be clipped a few days after birth, but there’s still time before that happens. Moreover, the ears have also moved to the correct position at the sides of the head. Your baby is now urinating every 40 to 45 minutes. The bones are getting stronger by the day, and their limb movements are becoming stronger and more coordinated too. The legs are now longer than the arms, and the baby is kicking and flailing about since there’s still lots of room for the baby to move about within the uterus.

Changes inside the Mommy

Nosebleeds or stuffy nose?

You may get nosebleeds of a stuffy nose suddenly without any apparent reason. If such is the case, don’t worry. This is caused by the increased blood volume during pregnancy and should not be a problem at all if you are healthy. The increased blood level brings about a subsequent change in your estrogen level as well, which causes your nasal membranes to swell.

Baby’s movements in your womb

By this time you will be able to feel the baby kicking around inside your womb unless you are underweight, have a thick uterus, or it is your first pregnancy. An amniocentesis, a test for birth defects and other conditions by taking a small amount of the amniotic fluid may be taken this week for accurate results.

Daddy needs to?

Accompany your partner for baby clothes to shops, take her care and be the partner that she needs during this time. Begin discussing options for naming your child so that you know what to call him or her the moment you take them in your arms.
