22 Weeks Pregnant

You are still in the middle of the second trimester so you’ll be feeling quite comfortable on the whole about your pregnancy. You could try doing something that you’ve been longing to for the last few months and couldn’t because of the sickness.

How’s the baby coming on?

Baby kicks and nudges.

This week may mark the beginning of the exciting but tiring phase of your pregnancy. You will begin feeling the full 425 grams and 28 centimeters of your baby’s presence and feel like something huge is being raised in your womb. The baby’s senses are by now so well-developed that it will begin exploring its surroundings, i.e. the inside of the uterus and the umbilical cord closely. It will be active and may already have an established sleeping cycle. You’ll by now be able to feel when the baby is awake, through the vehement kicking around going on in your womb.

The skin, though, may appear very wrinkly even now. Don’t worry, this is all preparation to take in the baby fat that you will eventually come to adore.

Changes inside the Mommy

Suffering from back-ache?

Your uterus is now about an inch above your navel. At this point, owing to the increasing weight of your baby as well as your own body, the strain may begin causing back aches. These are to be considered quite normal. If they’re frequent, try avoiding high heels and also flat shoes, as both can trigger back ache. Go instead for low-heeled ones. Whenever you sit, have a footstool ready to keep your legs raised in a comfortable position, to keep your knees higher than your hips. This has been known to bring about improvement.

Another cause of concern for women, during this time, is the stretch marks that appear on the abdomen. These may also itch uncomfortably. But even so, the creams that promise miraculous removal of these marks are virtually useless, as they cannot remove these marks. They come from the stretching of the skin to accommodate the baby within, and no cream can remove them, even if it claims to do so. It’s recommended that you don’t go wasting your money. You will need lots of it when the little tyke enters the world any way.

Daddy needs to?

There is a chance that your partner will be experiencing increased libido during this time of her pregnancy. Make sure you don’t stop having sex with her just because she is pregnant. Understanding each others needs couldn’t have been more important ever than it is now.
